Activation

IMPORTANT! Activation is only available to authorized users on an existing account. Contact KVH’s Airtime Services Department if you need assistance.

On the Activate tab of Fleet Tools, you can activate a new Starlink system in four easy steps. 

  1. Enter any of four acceptable identification numbers for the Starlink system (see below).
  2. Enter a platform name to identify the vessel, vehicle, or site where the Starlink system is installed.
  3. Choose a data plan and a OneCare service plan from the drop-down menus. 
  4. Accept the terms and conditions then select Activate. Allow a few minutes for your activation request to be processed. The selected plan subscriptions will be added to your account. 

Starlink Identifiers

KVH Manager will accept any of the following identifiers for your Starlink system:

  • Starlink system (KIT) serial number: Printed on a label on the outside of the Starlink box

  • Antenna (Dish) serial number: Printed on the bottom of the antenna (except Standard Actuated systems)

  • Starlink terminal ID: Displayed on the Advanced page of the Starlink mobile app (do not include the “ut” prefix)

  • KVH serial number: Printed on a label on the outside of the box, as well as on the provided activation sheet
