Faxing

You can fax documents via the enhanced voice service. Connect a fax machine to the “Voice Line 1” jack on the ICM and dial the fax number as you would a voice call (see Making a Ship-to-Shore Call).

NOTE: Faxing requires 70 kbps bandwidth for sending and up to 90 kbps bandwidth for receiving.

For extremely reliable faxing, KVH offers the UCH-250 fax server (see UCH-250 Fax Server). The UCH-250 avoids the industry-wide problem of dropped or incomplete faxes commonly associated with faxing over Voice over IP (VoIP) connections.
