Using the Built-in Network

The LTE antenna includes a built-in Wi-Fi router, allowing you to connect to the LTE service right out of the box.

LTE-1 Default Network Configuration

Wired Connection

To connect a computer to the LTE system's network, connect a standard Ethernet cable from your computer to the LAN port on the LTE system's PoE injector. To connect multiple computers, use a simple switch. A wired connection will provide the fastest possible speeds.

Wireless Connection

To connect to the network over Wi-Fi, select the wireless network on your mobile device and enter the Wi-Fi password. The default network name and password are provided on a label in the Quick Start Guide and inside the antenna dome. To assign a unique network name (SSID) and password, see Built-in Wi-Fi Settings.

IMPORTANT! The built-in Wi-Fi can only support data speeds up to 20 Mbps. To enjoy the fastest possible speeds that the LTE system can offer, install a wireless router or access point belowdecks. See Using Your Vessel's Network for details.

IMPORTANT! While the nominal range of the built-in Wi-Fi is 30 feet (9 m), the actual range will depend on the layout and structure of the vessel. For example, wireless signals cannot pass through bulkheads and can degrade near metal masses. To extend the range belowdecks, connect a wireless access point (WAP) to the network.
